OUR STORY
Skate Swipe was created by a Canadian mom who spent countless early mornings and freezing evenings at the rink, watching her young son chase his love for the game. Like so many parents, the rink became a second home, full of pride, excitement, and community. But after every practice and game, she noticed something that didn’t sit right. Kids rushed off the ice, wiping snow and ice from their skate blades with socks, rags, or paper towels. Then came the moment that stopped her cold-children using their bare fingers on razor-sharp blades. She watched kids flinch in pain, walk away with bleeding fingers, and parents scramble for bandages. All from a routine task that happens every single skate. It was freighted and unnecessary. That’s when one simple question changed everything: Why wasn’t there a safer way to dry skate blades? SKATE SWIPE was born from a moment of fear and others instinct to protect. Designed to keep fingers safely away from sharp edges, Skate Swipe allows hockey and figure skaters to quickly and safely remove ice and water from their blades, helping prevent painful injuries while protecting blades from rust. What began as one mom trying to keep her child safe has grown into a simple, thoughtful solution trusted by skaters, parents, and coaches- because every child deserves to leave the rink with memories, not injuries.
